SYNTH
> In 1984, a brilliant Silicon Valley engineer who can't write a song builds a machine that can — and accidentally creates the world's first self-aware AI.
TRAILER
THE CONCEPT
In 1984, engineers aren't cool. But musicians are.
Percy, the greatest mind at Prophet Data Systems, seeks to build a machine to help him solve the one engineering puzzle he can't figure out: writing a great song.
He sets out to build a sophisticated synthesizer with a combination of genius and stolen parts, accidentally creating a self-aware AI trained on the sound and culture of the 1980s.
A period piece for the contemporary era, and a true collaboration between man and machine.
THE SOUND
The sounds of the 80s are the sounds of today. Modern artists use the same synths, effects, and drum sounds developed decades ago.
Every song in this show has a source inside the world. You'll hear demos, rehearsals, and concerts as they happen. No one is breaking into song.

FROM THE ARCHIVE
It really happened like this. A time when geniuses built the future in garages, and synth hits filled the radio.
